cebas Computer was founded in the year 1989 in Heidelberg, Germany. The main focus of the company was- and has always been in offering optimized hard & software solutions for graphic intense applications. In those early days of computer technology, there was no way of getting the power to create 3D images on a standard PC. This is why cebas computer started out as a specialized company offering UNIX and RISC processor workstations. In fact, cebas computer was one of the first companies to offer RISC based workstations in Germany. With the very first release of 3D STUDIO DOS R1 things changed dramatically. Nowadays, Windows and OS X is the preferred development platform for our 3D plug-ins. Several major 3D software packages are supported and all of our plug-ins are under constant development.
